AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Patsy is playing in the garden when she disobeys her mother's order not to go beyond the gate. She follows her shadow, and ends up in a tea-tree glade, where she hears the magical voices of flowers and animals, including her dog, Micky. She gets caught in a spider's web. Her flower friends call the South Wind, who blows the web away, allowing her to run home to her mother who declares her fantastical tale to be 'utter nonsense'.

Notes

  • Epigraph:

This is but a Dreamland story,
To be told when Daylight fails,
And the children love to wander
    Over Faery's hills and dales.
