Notes

  • Author's note: In a recent account of a visit to the islands of the Pacific, a visit to this tomb is mentioned, but no adequate idea of the romantic and impressive nature of the scene is conveyed thereby. These verses are the result of a first visit paid by moonlight to a spot, locally revered, as the tomb of Paul and Virginia is in the island of Mauritius. Ada E. Gordon. Premaydeena, December 18, 1895.
