'"The Stallion of Death" is a boisterous comedy that sends up some great Aussie bush legends such as The Man from Snowy River. Set in the time when everyone loved a rollicking bush legend and when nothing quickened the pulse faster than a true story...except for perhaps an untrue story...or a lie! It's 1890 and our hero Buck is a hapless, down and out drover, and he has a past he needs to escape from. He hears that the famous magazine The Bulletin pays big money for true bush yarns and so he decides to cash in on his bush-charm and horsey knowledge. Buck invents a thrilling tale about a murderous horse; The Stallion of Death. Soon he is the talk of the town and becomes Australia's latest great bush poet. Amazingly he wins the heart of Gemima the local rich land owner's daughter. "The Stallion of Death" catapults Buck into National fame! But if the story is made up, who the hell is killing all the townsfolk?' Source: www.darlinghursttheatre.com/ (Sighted 30/09/2008).
