Between Denial and Despair : Understanding the Decline of Literary Publishing in Australia, Nathan Hollier , single work criticism
"This article examines recent research into and commentary on the Australian publishing industry and a perceived decline in that industry's publishing of literary texts. It is argued that this decline is real; that it is undesirable, because literary texts remain culturally and politically valuable; that it is taking place for economic and ultimately political reasons that also impact upon understandings of this decline; and that active steps to preserve literary diversity can be, should be and are being taken."
