Notes

  • This series was published anonymously as the 'Mala' series, and subsequently authorship has been attributed to 'Mala', who is likely Lionel Birnberg. Birnberg owned The Mala Series Novel Co., located at 238 Castleregh St Sydney.
  • Twenty-two titles are listed in the series, but a number have not been traced, including: Jim Hardy's Dilemma, Suzanne, Tickets to Heaven, and Trial Marriage (listed in another book by Birnberg, Kelly, My Irish Lover); and also Thrilling Marvel, which is listed in Miller and Macartney, Australian Literature: A Bibliography to 1938: Extended to 1950 (1956).
