Published in the Victorian Education Department's magazine, The School Paper: Grades VII and VIII, the 'Our Heritage of Freedom' series focused on the development of Australian politics and institutions and their British origins - with each installment dealing with a different aspect of this topic. Featuring the children Tom and Tilly throughout, each number includes a drama by C. Tapley Timms and an accompanying cartoon by Dick Ovenden.
