Afeif Ismail Abdelrazig writes about his upbringing in Sudan, his arrests there and his writing poetry in prison. He comments that half of Bet of the Argil was written during imprisonment. Ismail also recounts his arrival in Australia and his initial difficulties in contacting writers groups.
