      • Anne Pender comments: 'Andrew Field argues that some of the poetry published in 1915 was written in Australia, basing this claim on an undated manuscript held in the Mitchell library entitled 'Poems by Anna Wickham, Not for Publication', written in the hand of A. G. Stephens. Field believes that Anna's father sent the poems to Stephens - see his "A Wild Colonial Girl"'.('Phrases between Us': The Poetry of Anna Wickham', Australian Literary Studies 22.2 (2005): 230). See Andrew Field, 'A Wild Colonial Girl', Age Monthly Review (February 1984: 3-6).
