Notes

  • Of the eleven poems, eight are unatributed and assumed to be by Watson. Two (poems nine and ten) of the other three are by Jacope da Todi (d.1306): 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa' in 'a new translation' and 'Stabat Mater Speciosa' translated by Denis Florence MCarthy. The eleventh and last poem 'Madonna's Lullaby' is by St. Alphonsus Maria d'Liguori and translated by the Rev. T. E. Bridgett.
