Notes

  • An unfinished novel. B. G. Andrews comments:''The Strike of '95' has some historical interest as one of the first long pieces of fiction about the labor movement to be written in Australia. After ten installments had appeared from February to June it was left unfinished, partly because of a dispute over copyright and partly because Astley became heavily involved in proposals to establish a labor daily.' (Price Warung (William Astley) (1976): 32).
