A Christmas play based on an Aboriginal legend of Western Australia.

This play was the result of an intensive four weeks during which the local Nyoongar people were the main topic of the lessons.

This play was written for and performed by the children of class 3/4 of the Golden Hill Steiner School, Denmark Hill, Western Australia at the end of the year Christmas celebrations in 1998. Traditionally at the school the classes present scnes from the nativity story to the (school) community. In 1998, however, class 3/4 presented The Moodjah Tree instead of a traditional Christmas play. It preceded the lower class's play.
All the parts were written with specific children in mind. The traditional headbands the ancestors wore during the performance were made by the children themselves under the guidance of a Nyoongar woman from Albany.
