  • Editor's note: The Author of these excellent Stanzas had for many months previously been afflicted with a growing obscurity in his vision. But, at the time of his present Dictation, the said evil had so intensified its effects that he had become like "Blind Thamysis and blind Maeonides;" and so still continues. Proh dolor! O me infelicem!
