'There is plenty of action in it, as well as mystery concerning the identity of Red Mask, and also of the Dingo, whose villainies he exposes. The other reason for recommending it as a fitting present for the young people is its historical character. It is informative as well as entertaining, giving as it does a vivid account of life on the early goldfields of Victoria, culminating in the stirring events in and around the famous Eureka Stockade. And there Is a charming heroine, so that the combination is altogether a desirable one.'
