  • Author's note: There are hundreds of allusions to Sophia, personified Wisdom, in canonical Hebraic scripture. Much later, Jewish-Christian writers appropriated Sophian imagery; some applied the name and attributes of Sophia to Jesus (cf. 1 Corinthians 1: 24).
  • This poem is presented in two sections: (i) Moonlight; (ii) Daylight.
