Epigraph: The following ode to the Prince of Wales was forwarded to His Excellency Sir Henry Barkly, K.C.B., late Governor of Victoria, by the Author, to be forwarded to H.R.H. the Prince of Wales, and the Author received a due acknowledgment of the same from His Excellency's Private Secretary.
