  • Epigraph: The five foregoing stanzas have reference to certain verses sent (according to report) by J. R___s, which verses he declaring to be of his own composition, requested the author to criticise. The author did so; by subsequently discovered that the said verses were from another author. He therefore wrote the nine stanzas appended in answer to J. R.
