Lady Chatterly's Lover was first published in Florence, privately printed in 1928. It was not published in England until 1960.

NAA Source: A425; 1964/8571 A490/1 C4178
Censorship notes: The Literature Censorship Board unanimously recommended release in 1960 and again in early 1961 after a second assessment was requested by the Minister for Customs. The Minister overruled this advice with the support of Cabinet and the Prime Minister. The unexpurgated edition was released by the Minister in 1965.
