Notes

  • Author's note: In perusing the following Versifications of certain of the Psalms, the Reader must be pleased to keep in mind two facts. - the Author never wished to paraphrase, but to convert into metre David's words as literally as possible: and secondly, the Author used "The great English Bible set forth in the reign of King Henry the Eighth and of King Edward the Sixth" as his text-book.
