Notes

  • A song written in the ragtime genre.
  • Originally written by Nat Phillips as a song to be performed by Stiffy and Mo, 'Rachel Cohen' was later incorporated into the Cinderella (1921) pantomime, where it was performed as a solo number by Roy Rene (Mo).
  • The 1920 score attributes the song to Stiffy and Mo, while the 1921 version is attributed only to Nat Phillips. Although the the latter version has been transposed for a lower vocal register (each song remains in the key of F major), both are essentially the same song. The reason for attributing the two versions to different creators is unclear.
