AbstractHistoryArchive Description

The first of the three plays is E.F.C. Ludowyk's He Comes From Jaffna. It is about those who arrived in Colombo from Jaffna in 1908 and was first performed in Sri Lanka in the 1930s. The following two plays by Ernest Macintyre are more contemporary. His Rasanayagam's Last Riot concerns the violent rioting that took place in Colombo in July 1983. He Still Comes From Jaffna is set in Colombo during the 2002 ceasefire.
