      • Author's Note: The Genuine Digger Book.
The past years have been trying, many of our old clients have passed on, many of the younger generation, do not realise the necessity of giving a helping hand to the Digger, who through no fault of his own is stricken low, suffering silently, but with the true Australian spirit, still looking for the silver lining. The cost of a book works out at "ONE PENNY" per month, as we are (so I have heard it remarked often) a handy yearly annual. This book is the GENUINE SOLDIERS BOOK. I thank my old clients for their help, to the new ones I extend a welcome to the great army of loyal stickers, who have not forgotten. Yours faithfully, THE AUTHOR. (p. 2)
