  • Editor's note: We have extracted the following spirirted Verses from a Sydney journal, we think the Australian. (Colonial Times).
  • The barque Cataraqui sailed from Liverpool on the 20th of April 1845 bound for Melbourne carrying 367 emigrant passengers and 44 crew. On August 4 the ship struck a reef on the southwestern coast of King Island. There were only nine survivors.
