  • Dedicatory Stanza: 'Tis joy to hear, in these sad days of striving,/ A voice of Love, assail the charioteer ;/ Charging ; to spare the steeds, with heedful driving ;/ Less girding than exhorting their career./ So, gladdens it our hearts thy voice to hear-/ O, blest vicegerent of the Lord, on earth-/ Rebuking Mammon and her factions drear,*/ Who vex the nations, as it were, with dearth ;/ Seizing all Nature's dower- All Art's fair world of worth !
