'Most of the poems are written personally for the late mother of the author. Yet they are dedicated to all mothers in nature... from feminine figures in stone, trees, animals and birds,... culminating in our pure Lady Theotokos, the Mother of God.' (From the Preface).

Notes

  • This dual language publication has Greek and English versions of the poems on facing pages.
  • On the page following the final poem: Hail, heavenly ladder by which God came down; / Hail, bridge leading those from earth to heaven. Verse from the Akathist Hymn.
  • Publication commemorates the 30th anniversary of the author's pastoral work as Archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Church in Australia.
