AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Construction and building workers' greatest skills and experiences were crafted and choreographed to build a roving rock performance event which celebrated the great strength and skill of builders in Melbourne who daily put their lives on the line and rightly proclaim "We built this city!" "We Built This City" featured a cast of unionists to form an industrial percussion ensemble coordinated by Mark Grunden, a rock band with anthems written and performed by Mark Seymour, the Trades Union Choir and a dance of heavy machinery set to a grunty percussion line-up.'
