  • Author's note: [The Author was requested to write some lines for a lady's album. A subject was asked for and given by the fair one, pointing to 'those rocks' in front of his residence. "But do you know they are called Hell's Gates?" The lady insisted: the author consented, vowing the insertion of the approbrious epithet.]
