Notes

  • At the beginning of chapter 1, the author states 'The Waverley Council has asked my Club (the Tamarama Surf Life-Saving Club) to give them some data of its history.' (p.9) This book is the result of that request and, though historical data is used as a marker of events, the author has chosen to present the supposed 'history' in the form of personal reminiscences.
  • Dedication: To My Dear Wife.
