AbstractHistoryArchive Description

This study presents an example of how the book may be considered as a material object. It identifies Moorish features, themes and stylistic elements, and then uses an 'object analysis' schema to find similarities between Moorish decorative features and contemporary book cover design. The thesis may be seen as a first step in determining whether the similarities between Moorish decorative features and contemporary book cover iconography result from Moorish influence on Western book production.
