AustLit has not yet established whether this work is Australian; it is highly likely that it is international. A longer version with textual variations was published in Australian colonial newspapers in 1844. The 1844 version was probably taken from an international publication as a similar poem was published in the Hull Packet and East Riding Times on 24 November 1843.
