Notes

  • According to performing arts consultant John Thomson, 'The Lawsons' has not been produced since its twelve performances in country New South Wales in 1950.
  • Based on the radio play of the same name and prequel to the radio play Blue Hills.

Production Details

  • World premiere produced by J. C. Williamson's at the Masonic Hall, Bathurst on 8 January 1950. Following the Bathurst production, the play toured for two performances each to Wellington, Dubbo, Parkes and Forbes during February 1950. Season directed by Vivian Edwards.

      • John Thomson says that the National Library of Australia holds two typescripts of 'The Lawsons'. One has pencil markings indicating that it was used for rehearsals; the other appears to be the original.
