      • Foreword by Gertrude Johnson.
      • In her Foreword, Gertrude Johnson remarks 'The play was produced for us [National Theatre Movement, Melbourne] ... [and] [t]en years later, when the National Theatre Movement celebrated its tenth birthday ... I felt the desire to present it again, this time on our own National Theatre Stage.' Printed in the work are extracts from reviews of the 1946 performance. The copy in the Palmer Collection at the National Library of Australia has a signed inscription by Marjorie McLeod dated Swan Hill, 1948. This would put the date of this publication of the work somewhere between the performance in 1946 and 1948.
      • Dedication: For Shirley, Clarice, Dorothy, Kath, Betty and Dot and all of those dear people who have helped to bring this play to life.
