Decision:
6 Mar 1956
NAA Source:
A3023; Folder 1955-1956
Censorship notes:
The prohibition was placed on the basis of a 1953 edition.
Censorship notes:
One of the censors noted: 'Students of psychology, whether academic or medical, may have access to de Beauvoir's essay, which was published in Les Temps modernes. Any such students, examining the mind of an obviously insane pervert, would study all his works, and comprehend his psychology as a whole. These selections are partial, and quite unfit for public reading. The board recommends banning.'
Censorship notes:
The prohibition was maintained at 1958 and 1963 reviews. It was released at a cyclical review on 27.07.1973.
