AbstractHistoryArchive Description

An 'ABC' of Italian painters, with each letter of the alphabet starting a poem about a particular painter (eg. A is for Angelico, B is for Botticelli). It could therefore be viewed as either 26 poems, or one long poem divided into 26 sections. The author's note at the start of the work refers to 'these verses.'
