Notes

  • 'A Queenslander now in England has sent us a copy of verses written by "Ursus", of the Queen newspaper. In the letter which accompanies them he writes : " 'Queensland's Nightingale' will at once be recognised by your numerous readers as the young lady who left your city in December last to pursue her studies at the Royal College of Music, and the 'Grove' as the knight of that name under whose direction she has placed herself".
