Production Details

  • 'Stephen's boyhood was a little more lively than most, especially for Brisbane in the early 20th Century. After finding his father hanging over the aspidistra, he is dispatched to his Aunt Cecilia and her husband, a doctor who spends his time performing autopsies on children from the local orphanage. Stephen is to discover the joy - and pain - of music, the loneliness of being talked about as if he is not there and the friendship of Lucy, the maid. But wait - there's more. Adultery? Affairs? Seances? Murder?'
