Notes

  • In this letter to the Editor of the Western Australian, Dr Summers claims as his a number of songs reportedly used the James Duff / Reginald D'Arcy-Irvine production of The Two Worlds, which premiered at the Theatre Royal on 10 November 1900. Summers writes : 'As many of these numbers are sung twice, it will be largely seen that "the greater part of the musical numbers" are from my pen and not Mr Irvine's, as stated by your critic' (p10).
