AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Robbie and Ant are two 17-year-olds who write songs together in their bedrooms. Terence Crawford says the 'seminary' part of the title refers to the 'cloister' of the boy's bedrooms -- their music is private, not yet ready to be performed to an audience. It's also a pun on 'seminal', the play takes place at an important time in their lives when Robbie and Ant are making the transition into their adult personas.

'Their music gives them a sense of identity, even when much around them seems meaningless or dysfunctional. As the boys compose and rehearse their songs with an acoustic guitar and a small electronic keyboard, they talk about girls, war, their families and the future of the planet, but Robbie has a secret that he can't tell anyone, not even his best friend Ant. Into this equation comes Sophie, a singer.'
