'Pratt imagined that a villainous larrikin 'order' was ruled by an affluent pawnbroker old enough to have a nephew in his teens. This larrikin 'king' was conducting an experiment through which he hoped to gain control of the New South Wales parliament. His plan was to rear his nephew to attain a high position in society, allowing him to influence the city's richest and most powerful citizens. To this end, the king had his nephew educated in a private school and afterwards sent him to the University to fraternise with the sons of the Sydney elite.'
