Notes

  • This work has been attributed to James Davis (1853-1907), a British theatre critic who used the pseudonym Owen Hall for a number of librettos for musicals. However, a much more likely candidate is Hugh H. Lusk, a New Zealander who came to Australia in about 1890 and who wrote magazine stories under the pseudonym Owen Hall.
