Married to geologist Reg Sprigg, Griselda assisted him in his outback exploratory work for the company they established in 1954, Geosurveys of Australia. They were the first to cross the Simpson Desert by motorised vehicle, in 1961. They bought the 61,000ha Arkaroola station in the northern Flinders Ranges in 1967 and the family developed what has become a renowned tourism business.
