In 1951 Beverley was 21 when she arrived in New Guinea to live with her new husband. Over the next months she encountered spiders as big as dinner plates and a family of snakes in the ceiling, but none of this compares to her life after she meets the arrogant and handsome Pole, Stan Rybarz, and their bizarre courting ritual begins.
