Banned in Australia

Censorship Agencies: Book Censorship Board
Decision: 6 Apr 1937
NAA Source: A3023; Folder 1937
Censorship notes: One censor stated that the book is 'crude and without merit. Represents hospital as a place for intrigues between doctors and nurses. Actual passages of indecency are few - main themes being mismanagement by political bosses and callousness of doctors - but the tone is not edifying'.
Censorship notes: The prohibition was maintained through the review in 1958. It was released from prohibition in 1963.
