Censorship notes: One censor noted that Justine is a 'notorious work' of 'some historical interest, but quite unfit for general circulation. The translation, which often lapses into Americanisation, also bears signs of the translator's imperfect understanding of the text, and the illustrations are disgusting'.
Censorship notes: The prohibition was maintained through the 1958 and 1963 reviews.
Censorship notes: The title was released in September 1973.
