This novel recounts the story of a heroic sea journey undertaken by members of the R.A.F. and R.A.S.F. including the author's father, R.A.A.F. Flight Sergeant Willliam Nicholas Pax Cosgrove. The mission was undertaken in order to attempt a rescue of allied airmen stranded in enemy territory on Java during 1942.
