The poems in this collection tell the story of the life experienced by Polish prisoners and refugees captured by the Russians in World War II and transported to camps in Siberia. The collection was written in direct reponse to the author's reading of Anna Wiciak-Suchnicka's Wooden Butterflies.

  • Dedication: My poetry in this book is dedicated to Ann Wiciak-Suchnicka and the sufferings of so many women during the Communist Invasion of Poland.

      • Poems in this collection are dated between 3 May - 18 July 1988.
