Jonathan West reveals the three forces that will shape Australia's future in this edited version of an address delivered on 8 May 2005 as part of the Alfred Deakin Innovation Lectures. The forces are; China's structural competitive advantage over Australia in trade, the uses of biotechnology in health and in warfare and the end of state control over it's citizens, especially young men.
