Peter Craven re-visits some of Patrick White's great works on the occasion of White's 93rd birthday. Craven argues that Australians might 'set about coming to terms with how deep and wise, how spacious and savage [White's] dream of this country was. Because if we don't have enough cultural memory for Patrick White, we might as well give up now.
