'Captain John Netley leaves his wife and family to try to retrieve their fortunes by finding Diamond Creek. Prior to his departure his son, Stuart, says stoutly that if his father is lost he will go and look lor him with a gun and a servant. The explorer fails to return and in due course Stuart Notley keeps his word. The party cross the great Australian desert and rescue his rather, thanks to the wonderful car, the 'Murray Mustoden.' A gold rush, desert adventures, captivity in a mysterious stronghold, and tense situations make, an extremely stirring yarn.'
