A chapter book for young readers, about Scruffy and Duffy, two boys in the 1940s and 1950s. Scruffy and Duffy lived in a different era, perhaps the same one in which your grandparents spent their childhood, in the 1940s and 1950s. Things were different then. There were few cars. Homes had wood stoves and thunderboxes, the outside toilets. There was no electricity connected to houses outside the towns and cities. There was no television, no computers, no video games. Maybe life was simpler, but it could be great fun, complicated and exciting as well - especially during school holidays!
