These stories were not collected until some years after their writing; many were separately published in periodicals such as Harper's Weekly and Macmillan's Magazine during the 1890s. Parker himself refers to the 1910 edition as a first edition, but an earlier edition dated 1904 and published by Heinemann is held by the Library of Congress. London : Heinemann , 1904 pg. 252-284
